The main difference between a link and a hyperlink is what you see. What you see with a hyperlink is anchor text. That is, some text on the current webpage that (usually) relates to the content of the linked resource. With a link, meanwhile, you see the address of the linked page.

To change the address or display text of a hyperlink you added, right-click the link and click Edit Hyperlink. To change the appearance of a hyperlink, such as font style, size, or color, right-click the link and click Font on the shortcut menu, or click a style option on the mini toolbar that appears.

Insert a Link Select the text or graphic you want to use as a hyperlink. Click the Insert tab. Expand the Links group, if necessary. Click the Link button. Select the type of object you want to link to on the left side of the dialog box: Specify where the link should lead to: Click OK.

In HTML, the correct way of creating a hyperlink is to use the anchor tag which is represented by the <a> symbol. The title for a link can be edited at any time. Find the link in your Bitly account (use search or filters, if you can't find it on the Links page), then click Edit. The edit menu opens on the right side of the page. Edit the title and click Save.

Add a hyperlink to existing text Select the text that you want to turn into a hyperlink, and right-click it. On the shortcut menu, click Hyperlink. In the Insert Hyperlink dialog, paste the link in the Address box and click OK.

Highlight the link and press the 'Ctrl' and 'C' keys on your PC to copy the file. Alternatively, when you highlight or place the cursor on the hyperlink, right-click to find the 'Copy hyperlink' option. Click the option to copy the link. After this process, you can paste the link virtually anywhere in a Word document.
