Move Line Log For Free

Pressing z and then return will move the current line to the top of the screen. A number will move that line number to the top of the screen, so pressing 50z and then return will make the top of the screen start at line 50.

It uses J and K to move the line down/up in the normal mode. To use Control key instead of Shift use "<C-j>" "<C-k>" instead of "J" , "K" For me that is default vim behavior.

With your caret on a line, you can press ??? (macOS), or Alt+Shift+Up Arrow (Windows/Linux), to move a line up. Alternatively, you can move a line down with ??? (macOS), or Alt+Shift+Down Arrow (Windows/Linux).

Go To Line In Vim To go to a specific line number, enter the line number in Command-line Mode (:<line number>) or the line number and G (<line number>G) in Normal Mode. J to move 1 line down. k to move to move 1 line up.

As long as my cursor does not go off-screen, I can remember my current spot while reading through the file. ctrl + y to move the screen up one line. ctrl + e to move the screen down one line. z + z to move the current line I'm on to the center of the screen. z + t to move the current line I'm on to the top of the screen.
