You can join the Naval Academy either through NDA/NA examination or through 10+2 B. Tech Entry after 12th or you can join it after graduation. Through this, only male candidates who have Physics and Maths in 12th can apply.

NDA Vs INA: There's no big difference, but just a title is given to NDA & NA. The exam for both is same which is conducted by UPSC. NDA & NA is known as NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY & NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION. There are different wings in NDA & NA for which the eligibility criteria are different.

The Indian Naval Academy (INA or INA Ezhimala) is the defence service training establishment for officer cadre of the Indian Naval Service and the Indian Coast Guard, located in Ezhimala, Kannur district, Kerala.It conducts basic training for all officers inducted into the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.

National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy Examination. Candidates on completion of the 10+2 (PCM) Examination or while in the 12th standard are eligible to compete. Successful candidates join the NDA or Naval Academy as Naval cadets.University graduates are eligible to appear in the examination.
