Kanban can be used to organize many areas of an organization and can be designed ingly. The simplest kanban board consists of three columns: "to-do", "doing" and "done", though some additional detail such as WiP limits are needed to fully support the Kanban Method.

Go to your board, then select more ( ) > Board settings. Click the Columns tab. The Column settings page displays, with the Kanban Backlog as the leftmost column. In the columns section, drag a status to the Kanban Backlog column.

Do the following steps to add and edit your columns. Open your Kanban board. Select Configure team settings to configure the board and set general team settings. Select Columns and then a column tab to see all the settings that you can modify.

The default columns on a Kanban board are Backlog, Selected for Development, In Progress, and Done.

The most basic Kanban board has three columns ? To do, In Progress, and Done. To make the most of your Kanban board, you are free to decide how many columns you need in order to organize the board better and depict your specific workflow more accurately.

Go to the project, report, or dashboard that contains the task or issue you want to add to the Kanban board. Select one or more tasks or issues. Click More > Add to > Kanban Board.
