A footnote gives the necessary information about the statistics. For example, if we use abbreviations M and F for male and female respectively, it can be clarified through footnote. By giving a star mark, we also give the source of data in a footnote.

Graph Title: The title appears at the top of the graph and should describe the graph. Axis Labels: The labels that appear along the x and y-axes describing what is being measured.

Write \section[title] {title\footnote{I'm a footnote referred to the section} } where title is the title of the section. Use the footmisc package, with package option stable, and simply add the footnote to the section title.
