Chapter 3 Quests will begin when the following requirements are met: Commonwealth Rising is complete. From Sea to Glowing Sea and if Remote Management has been started, that needs to be completed, or From Sea to Glowing Sea has started. 48 in game hours have passed.

Do I need to start a new game to play with Sim Settlements 2? Yes and No. You can use an old save if that save has never had the original Sim Settlements installed on it. However, we strongly recommed you start a new game to experience Sim Settlements 2's main quest.

The back-end architecture of Sim Settlements 2 is significantly different and upgraded from the original Sim Settlements. Nothing from the original Sim Settlements is compatible with Sim Settlements 2. You cannot use the original Sim Settlements and Sim Settlements 2 on the same save file.

Workshop Framework and Sim Settlements 2 are both Master files, so they will stay loaded at the top of a load order. Place HUDFramework and any Sim Settlements 2 Addons/other mods below WF and SS2.

Visit the Workshop Framework and Sim Settlements 2 mod pages, download the new versions, and enable them. If you have it, do the same for Sim Settlements 2 - Chapter 3. If you have SS2 Extended (Optional File), and there is an update download it as well. (This file is not updated with every new release.)

Standard Start Activate the Workshop. (This makes the Settlement owned by you.) Build, power, and activate a vanilla Recruitment Radio Beacon. The Sim Settlements 2 questline will start shortly after you do this. A Stranger will appear in your Settlement.
