These plots are available in six types, each zoning for a different kind of building or activity. In the Sim Settlements Workshop menu the different plot types have been color-coded: Residential (red), Agricultural (green), Industrial (yellow), Commercial (blue), Martial (grey), and Recreational (purple).

Industrial plots generate scrap for your settlement. In the initial release of Sim Settlements, there is only one building set which starts as a haphazard mound of dirt and scrap. Higher tier it will become a full garage, filled with tools and equipment.

Agriculture Plots provide food for your settlers. Agriculture Plot production can be improved by assigning Settlers with higher Endurance. To train up your Settler, assign them to a Recreation Plot that trains Endurance. Sim Settlements 2 comes with building plans for Basic, Advanced and Hi-Tech plots.

Workshop Framework and Sim Settlements 2 are both Master files, so they will stay loaded at the top of a load order. Place HUDFramework and any Sim Settlements 2 Addons/other mods below WF and SS2.

You can start using commercial plots after they are unlocked in the Sim Settlements 2 quest New Plots on the Block. Additionally, there are settlement requirements you will need to reach to build and upgrade commercial plots.
