Quote templates define the layout of the documents that your sales reps generate from a quote. With certain page layout and field-level security settings, some fields aren't visible or editable.

To add a line item to a quote: Click Add Products in Lightning Experience or Add Line Item in Salesforce Classic in the Quote Line Items related list....Required Editions and User PermissionsClick New Quote on the Quotes related list on an opportunity.Complete the fields.Save your changes.

The quote line editor lets you view all your quote lines and apply changes across the entire quote or to individual lines. If your quote line editor shows a field above your quote line list, you can edit that field and then save or calculate the quote to apply the field across all your quote lines.

To modify a quote template in salesforce go to Set up. Now Go to Customize=>Quotes=>Settings. When Settings in Quotes are selected a new window will be opened where we have to select the check box to enable quotes in salesforce.

Quote Number cannot be reduced; however, it can be increased by creating and then deleting quote records. The Quote Number field shipped with Salesforce CPQ cannot be modified. Consider creating a custom quote name field in its place.
