Either you have restarted the page number in one of the sections, and every subsequent section is restarting at the same number (and you have a LOT of sections), or (more likely) the page number has just been typed. Try this: Delete the current page number. Press Alt+Shift+P to insert a PAGE field.

In the table, right-click in the row that you want to repeat, and then click Table Properties. In the Table Properties dialog box, on the Row tab, select the Repeat as header row at the top of each page check box. Select OK.

Click anywhere in the section of your document for which you want to create a different header or footer. In Word 2010 and 2007, select the Insert tab, and then select either Header or Footer. Then, select Edit Header or Edit Footer. In earlier versions of Word, from the View menu, select Header and Footer.

Go to Insert > Header & Footer. SelectOptions on the right side, and then select Different First Page. Select Options again, and then select Remove Page Numbers. To see your page numbers and confirm deletion of the number from the first page, go to View > Reading View.

Select Document > Layout > Different first page (this should create a blank header/footer only for page 1) Go to the first page and do View > Header and footer. The blue tabs should say First Page Header Close 24e7 and First Page Footer Close 24e7
