Quote Hide Text For Free

This 'purple text' is caused by conversation view and has been around for sometime. If you want to get rid of the purple quoted text, turn conversation view off under settings.

HELP! Hi DCM, the three dots (ellipsis) at the end of the message you are composing doesn't represent attachments, it covers everything quoted from the message you are replying to or forwarding. You can still click on that to expand it and edit the text or select the ellipsis and delete it to remove everything.

Find the last Gmail message from the recipient you received that you are going to send the message to. Then, select "Forward" instead of "Reply". This will close off the quoted text.

To see the content, simply click Show Quoted Text in each email. To avoid this in the future, delete any copies of the same test email before sending again so that there is only one test email in the inbox at a time.
