Quote OCR For Free

In your main text you quote the author of the chapter (not the editor/s of the book) and the date of the book. In the reference list you quote the author and date of the chapter first, and follow it with a reference to the book.

1. References may be given either in the main text of your essay, or in a footnote or endnote. References are in brackets and take the form of the author's surname, followed by date of publication, followed (if appropriate) by page number(s), e.g. (Wiggins 1997, 251).

The following information is required: Author(s) Book title. Chapter and page numbers. Edition (if relevant) Date published. Publisher.

An OCR (Optical Character Recognition) number is a specially formulated reference number that is usually found at the bottom of a payment advice slip.

Include information in the following order: author (the person or organisation responsible for the site) year (date created or last updated) page title (in italics) name of sponsor of site (if available) accessed day month year (the day you viewed the site) URL or Internet address (pointed brackets).

Example: Your list of references should be attached to the end of your assignment when you submit it for assessment. These advanced referencing skills are recommended for Level 3 and A Level onwards. It is important to show when you have used someone else's work or ideas.

Surname, forename. Title of text including editor if relevant. (Place of publication: publisher, date). This is for anything other than a journal article.
