Rearrange Comment Text For Free

If you are willing, you may add prefixes or tags to the comment text to indicate categories. For instance, you can start each comment with a specific keyword or label, such as "Label1: Comment text". This way, you can visually identify the category or label associated with each comment.

If you want to move a comment to another location in your document (or even to another document), you can use techniques you already know for moving regular text. To move a comment, follow these steps: Highlight the comment mark for the comment you want to move. Press Ctrl+X.

That's easy to do. Simply go to File > Options > General and uncheck the box next to ?Enable modern comments.? Then close Word down entirely, start it back up, et voila: classic comments are back.

All you need to do is select the text and then use the regular tools on the ribbon to apply different attributes such as bold or italic. You can also right-click any selected text and choose Font from the Context menu in order to make more detailed changes.

Choose how you view comments In the Comments pane, you can see a single list of all comments in your document, including resolved comments. To switch between the contextual view and the Comments pane, simply click the Comments button in the upper right corner of your Word window.

Select the text you want to reformat, right-click it, and then choose Format Comment. Choose the font options you want and click OK. In this example, we've changed the font style, size and color of the comment.

If you don't want to permanently delete your comments, but you also don't want to have any on display, you can hide all your comments in Word: Click Review to show all the options. Under Tracking, click Show Markup. Click on comments to deselect and hide your comments.

Select the text you want to comment on, or click at the end of the text. On the Review tab, click New Comment. Type your comment. Word shows your comment in a balloon in the document's margin.
