If you want to reduce the number of licenses, at the top of the Buy licenses pane, select remove licenses. To buy or remove licenses, under New quantity in the Total licenses box, enter the total number of licenses that you want for this subscription.

In the admin center, go to the Billing > Licenses page. Select a product. On the product details page, select Assign licenses. In the Assign licenses to users pane, begin typing a name, and then choose it from the results to add it to the list.

Change a license If you are using Teams admin center, in the Licenses and apps tab on the user details, ensure that the old license is removed and the new license is added before you click Save changes.

Calling in Microsoft Teams To use Microsoft Teams as a business phone system additional licensing is needed. For Microsoft 365 Business Microsoft provides three licenses as a bundle, called Microsoft Business Voice, this provides an add-on license for Microsoft Teams Phone, Audio Conferencing, and a calling plan.

To determine the Office subscription license type, open an Office app (such as PowerPoint), select the name of the app in the menu, and then About (app). The license type will be listed below the Product ID.
