Report Columns Permit For Free

Unfortunately, it's not possible now to group columns, but it's an excellent idea!

Opting for "Current User" dynamically changes the filter to the user who is logged in and running the report. This allows each user to see their relevant information without the need to create separate reports for each or adjust the filters each time the report is executed.

Current user is the person viewing the sheet and is based on the email address that that person used to sign in to Smartsheet. You can use the Current user criterion, for example, to create a report that all of your team members can use to see their own assigned tasks without having to create multiple reports.

Ultimately, the goal is to create a report that is not just informative, but also engaging and easy to understand. By finding the data story, you can ensure that your report communicates the most important information clearly and effectively, and helps your audience make informed decisions based on the data.

Select the columns you want to group. Right-click and choose ?View more column actions?. Then - ?Group column A-Z?. Now, you can collapse or open the grouped columns by clicking the ?+? icon (for opening) or the ?-? icon (for collapsing) near the column letters of the selected range.

Smartsheet automatically collapses groups, if your report has more than 2,500 rows. The primary column automatically moves to the far left when you group rows. If you print or export the report, you will not see the group you set up. Only the rows will be visible in the file you printed or exported.

At the top of the report, select columns. The Sheet Name and Primary columns are included by default. Select a checkbox to add a column to the report; select the x next to the column name at the top of the box to remove it from the report.
