Report Header Certificate For Free

The Expect-CT header lets sites opt in to reporting and/or enforcement of Certificate Transparency requirements. Certificate Transparency (CT) aims to prevent the use of misissued certificates for that site from going unnoticed.

The header value contains the client certificate from the mutually-authenticated TLS connection between the client and reverse proxy, which enables the backend origin server to utilize the certificate in its application logic.

Response headers hold additional information about the response, like its location or about the server providing it. Representation headers contain information about the body of the resource, like its MIME type, or encoding/compression applied.

The HTTP Expect-CT response header is sent by a server, it is requesting that the client verify its certificate appears in the public certificate transparency logs. The Expect-CT header is only used in a secure context and it is ignored by clients communicating on an HTTP Connection.
