Reprimand Insert Date Field For Free

Column names in your spreadsheet match the field names you want to insert in your mail merge. For example, to address readers by their first name in your document, you'll need separate columns for first and last names.The Excel spreadsheet to be used in the mail merge is stored on your local machine.

Click in the document where you want to insert the date. Click the Insert tab on the command ribbon. Click the Date & Time button in the Text group to open the Date and Time dialog box with a list of formats. Click the desired format in the pane.

On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Date & Time. In the Date and time dialog box, select the format you want. Select the Update automatically check box. The date is inserted as a field and will update automatically.

On the Office ribbon, select the Insert tab. Under the Text group, click Quick Parts, Field. Under the Categories box, click Date and Time. In the Field names box, select CreateDate, PrintDate, or SaveDate. Select the date and time format that you want in the Date formats box. Click OK when ready.

On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Date & Time. In the Date and time dialog box, select the format you want. Select the Update automatically check box. The date is inserted as a field and will update automatically.

Click the second instance of double click to insert field, press DELETE, and then type the number of days that you want to add to the current date. For example, if you wanted to add 30 days to today's date, you would type 30. To test that your formula is entered correctly, click Verify Formula.

From the Insert Address Block dialog box or the Write & Insert Fields group on the Ribbon, click Match Fields. The Match Fields dialog box opens. On the left of the dialog box is a list of fields required for all special fields. Notice that the First Name, Last Name, Address 1, and State fields are not matched.
