At the bottom of a page, right-click the footnote text area, click Note Options, and then click Convert. Finally, click Convert all footnotes to endnotes. To convert one footnote to an endnote: At the bottom of the page, right-click the text of a footnote, and then click Convert to Endnote.

Click View footnote area or View endnote area, and then click OK. In the note pane, click Footnote Continuation Notice or Endnote Continuation Notice. In the note pane, type the text you want to use for the continuation notice ? for example, type Endnotes continued on the next page.

When you go to Insert > Footnote, a citation number will be placed in the body of your document where you have the cursor. The number will also appear in the footer so you can type the citation's content beside it. A footnotes entered this way will only appear on that page -- it won't show up on other pages.

On the Line and Page Breaks tab of the Paragraph dialog, make sure that "Page break before" is not checked. If it is not, probably "Keep with next" is. If so, then very likely that box is also checked for the paragraph the photo is in and the one following.

By default, footnotes and endnotes are numbered sequentially for the entire document, but you can restart the numbering (or the sequence of symbols) at the beginning of every page or document section (after each section break). Click any note in your document.

To keep the footnote together in Word: Press Ctrl+Shift+S to Apply Styles. Footnote Text. Click Modify. Click Format. Select Paragraph. Under Line and Page Breaks tab. Check box by Keep lines together. Click OK.

Add a footnote Open a document in Google Docs. Click where you want to insert a footnote. In the top left, click Insert. Footnote. Type your footnote.

You shouldn't lose them. If you copy text that includes footnote or endnote reference marks and paste it elsewhere, the footnotes and endnotes will come with it--unless you're using Paste Special to paste as unformatted text.
