Generally, you can request a change only to a tax return from any of the 10 previous calendar years. For example, if you make a request in 2023, it must relate to the 2013 or later tax returns.

Generally, the IRS can include returns filed within the last three years in an audit. If we identify a substantial error, we may add additional years. We usually don't go back more than the last six years.

Section 286 of the Corporations Act requires financial records to be kept for at least seven years after the transactions covered by the records are complete.

The longer you wait to file your taxes, the more penalties you will owe, and the likelihood of the CRA seeing your avoidance as tax evasion increases.
