Set Out Number Text For Free

Open your iPhone Messages app. Tap the ?New Message? icon in the top-right corner to compose a new message. Type in the name of your contact and tap the grey right arrow. Choose the appropriate number to text. Moving forward, all text messages for this contact will be directed to that number.

I have an iphone 5 and I would like to know if it is possible to text a number without first adding it to my contact list. Open the Messages app and then type the 10 digit number in the To: section. A 5 digit number is known as a short code. Example 32665 (FBOOK) for Facebook. You text it the same way you would a 7 or 10 digit number.

It doesn't want to send until you press the "+" after you type in the four digit number. Worked on this for a long time through icloud, settings, tech support, etc. The answer is tap the + to the right of the "To:_______" recipient. Then your message will send.

In "New Message" screen To: line press the Circle+ icon. This opens up your "Contacts" Then to be sure of the number you want to use Press and Hold the contact name.

How do you text a short code number? Texting a short code is simple and just like texting other phone numbers. The only difference is that the number is shorter. Simply create a new text message, type the short code where you'd normally put the recipient's number, type your message and hit send.
