Ing to a statement released by the law office involved in the suit against Apple, the tech giant will soon have to pay out up to $500 million to customers affected by its throttling of iPhones that had older batteries.

IPhone users are finally getting paid Apple's $500 million settlement, three years after it was agreed. This means that iPhone users who were involved in the 2020 class action lawsuit against Apple will be receiving some money, CNET reported.

The $30.5 million settlement will be paid out to a class that includes 14,683 Apple employees residing in California. It marks the largest settlement in a security search case in the history of the state.

We anticipate that the Effective Date of the Settlement, as described in the Settlement Agreement, will occur on November 6, 2023. The exact distribution date is not known at this time. Based on the timeline set forth in the Settlement Agreement, we anticipate distribution should occur sometime around the end of 2023.

A judge has cleared the way for Apple to pay as much as $500 million to settle charges it purposely slowed older phones. So customers buy a New one. Those who signed up for the class action Will get around $65 for an iPhone.

Early proposals for the settlement suggested each claimant would receive about $25. But so few people submitted claims that Apple gets to pay its minimum agreed-to sum, and claimants will likely receive somewhere in the ballpark of $60 to $95.

Payments will be distributed to people who filed claims before the October 2020 deadline and owned one of these phones: iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S Plus and/or SE device that ran iOS 10.2. 1 or later before Dec. 21, 2017.
