Spread Out Footnote Contract For Free

Footnotes/endnotes are double spaced, and the first line only is indented from the left margin. In addition to footnotes/endnotes, your paper will also have a bibliography: a list of all of the sources you cited in your paper, arranged in alphabetical order by last name of each author.

Switch to Draft view, then go to References|Show Notes>Footnotes:Footnote Separator. Now, choose Home|Paragraph>Indents and Spacing, where you can modify the line spacing and before/after paragraph spacing for the Footnote Separator.

First-line indent by default On the Home tab, right-click the Normal style, and choose Modify. Select Format, and then choose Paragraph. On the Indents and Spacing tab, under Indentation, select First line. Select OK.

Using the Footnotes drop-down list at the top of the Footnotes window, choose Footnote Separator. The current separator appears in the window, and the insertion point should be within the separator. Use Word's regular formatting tools to change the paragraph indentation on the separator. Click on Close.

To change the formatting of the footnote numbers, select the Footnotes Reference Style. If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on).

Making the Alignment Click the "Home" tab if it isn't already enabled. Click the ?Align Text Left? button in the Paragraph section of the ribbon. Note that Word doesn't have a way to mass-realign footnotes.

Go to Home>Paragraph>Indents & Spacing. Input 0 into the Spacing 'Before' and 'After' boxes. Press OK.
