All that is required is a 300 count box of Diamond Strike Anywhere Matches, two regular-mouth, half-pint Ball or Kerr mason jars (one jar doesn't quite hold 300 matches, so I split it up into two jars), two jar rings, a canning lid, a pencil, a sheet of 220 grit sandpaper, and some old scissors.

This is not sandpaper. Manufactured for use as a friction match starter- this item contains phosphorous to make it easy to light a match. This is an 8.5x11in(approximate) sheet that can be cut to size and is self adhesive like a sticker.

The striking surface of safety match boxes contains red phosphorus and an abrasive substance. When struck, a small amount of white phosphorus is produced, which ignites. The composition of matches varies depending on type, but safety matches are the most commonly used.
