The style number (or model number) is a naming system for many of our shoes. While most of our "higher-numbered" styles feature more technology than our "lower-numbered" shoes, that is not always the case.

We start by giving our first style in the subcategory the number 001, and then we add on. This will give an indication of how early in your brand's history the style is created. In our example, YYY=001, meaning it is the first style in the subcategory bottoms.

Graduation years Following name, use a backwards apostrophe (') and the last two numerals of the graduation year. For graduates from the 1800s or from before 1920, write ?Class of,? followed by the full year. For advanced degrees, put a capital G before the apostrophe.

Traditionally, the class year is the expected graduation date, generally four years out from the year students were admitted. If you wanted the other meaning in the question, you might say something like ?the incoming freshman of 2019? (who would be the class of 2023).

If you'd like to have that option for growth, it's best to design your style number system ingly. First of all, consider using 5 digits (you were originally using six and then cut those down to 4). I know I said 4 or 5 digits in my book but I've reconsidered that; I think 5 digits is better.
