Part-of-speech (POS) tagging is the task of labeling each word in a sentence with its appropriate POS information. Morphological tagging is very similar. It is a process of labeling words in a text with their appropriate detailed morphological informa- tion.

Tag-recovery studies are those in which individuals of the target population(s) are tagged, released, and subsequently killed upon recapture, as in a commercial fishery; while capture- recapture studies are designed to systematically tag, release and recapture individuals on multiple sampling occasions.

The two most common te,chniques of marking fish are fin clipping and tagging. In fin clipping, one or two fins are re- moved from the fish. Usually two fins are clipped because one of them may grow back, and occasionally there is the natural oc- currence of a fish with one fin missing.

The two most common types of tags used in pond management to identify individual fish are Floy (or anchor) tags, and Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tags. Both work extremely well and in each situation have their advantages and disadvantages.

The most common solution for tagging small fish is to place the VIE tags into the fish's body. One of the best tag injection sites in small fish is parallel to the base of the dorsal fin. Another excellent location is just behind the head, on the dorsal side.

Conventional Tagging First used in U.S. waters in 1873, conventional tags are the most basic tag type. A conventional tag is marked with an identification number as well as contact information for reporting the fish when it's caught. The tag is attached to a fish externally and is visible on the outside of the fish.

Satellite tracking tags are fitted to the dorsal fin and can send a signal each time the fin comes out of the water. These tags allow scientists to follow sharks over the tag's battery life.
