Front plates only have the registration sticker, while rear plates have both, with the safety sticker placed above the registration sticker. The sticker location is between the Area code and serial code.

The first Belgian car licence plate starting with index number '2' was pressed in a Brussels factory on Monday. Approximately 11 million licence plates beginning with the number '1' have been pressed since the European licence plate was launched on 15 November 2010.

Category 1 number plates include 0001 and are worth Rs 5 lakh. Category 2 number plates include numbers between 0002 to 0009, and prices start from Rs 3 lakh. Category 3 which includes numbers 0010 to 0099, 0786, 1000, 1111, 7777, and 9999 - Rs 2 lakh.

The Belgium number plate has red letters and numbers on a white background. The EU flag, which is a blue stripe with 12 yellow stars in a circle, is located at the left corner of the Belgium plate. Below the flag is the letter 'B', which is the international vehicle registration code for Belgium.

The registration consists of the numeral 9, followed by a hyphen, three numerals, a hyphen and three letters. Left of the registration is a blue band with the oval B in white below the twelve golden European stars. Current personalized series since 15 November 2010, rear plate in red on white.

The switch to "2" is because all the possible combinations beginning with "1" have been used up since they were introduced in 2010. Eleven million "1" plates were issued, while some combinations were skipped because they contain religious or political references, such as GOD or the acronym of a political party.

Standard German number plates use black print on a white background. There is a blue strip featuring the stars of the European Union and Germany's country code on the left. The registration number can have up to eight characters, which are visually split into three clusters.
