There are four types of telecom operator licenses in India: Basic Service License (BSL), Cellular Mobile Telephone Service License (CMTSL), Unified Access Service License (UASL), and Internet Service Provider License (ISPL).

As per the New Telecom Policy (NTP) 1999, service providers in India involved in providing services like telebanking, telemedicine, tele-education, tele-trading, e-commerce, call centre, network operation centre and other IT Enabled Services, using telecom resources are termed as ?Other Service Providers? (OSP).

An access services license is a permit issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India that allows telecom operators to provide access services such as internet connectivity, voice calling, and data transmission to customers.
