In order for your mobile device to be unlocked, the following rules apply: It must be purchased from Spectrum Mobile and activated on a Spectrum Mobile line. The device must be paid off in full. Your Spectrum Mobile account must be active for 60 days and in good standing, with no outstanding payments.

Make sure your account is in good standing. If you're late on payments or have not yet finished paying off a phone you've financed through the carrier, you'll usually need to take care of these obligations before your carrier will unlock your phone.

Once you've completed all the payments, the device is all yours. Note: Your Device Payment Plan balance will be due immediately if your Spectrum Mobile service is canceled, disconnected or if you don't maintain at least one additional Spectrum service, such as Internet, Voice or TV.

Dial *#7465625# on your device's keypad. When prompted, select Network Carrier Unlock, and then choose OK. Enter the unlock code that was sent to your email address. Your device should be unlocked after this process.

A residential or business Spectrum Internet account is required before signing up for Spectrum Mobile. If a Spectrum Internet subscription isn't maintained, an additional $10 per-line monthly charge to Unlimited and Unlimited Plus plans will be applied.

To get your phone unlocked from your current carrier, reach out to the provider to unlock your device from their network. This process can take up to 48 hours, but each carrier is different. Contact them for details on their process.

Usually you'd wait anywhere from 24 - 48 hours for approval - and then with iPhones since they're unlocked remotely instead of manually with a code, there is an additional 24 hour wait from when the unlock is approved and when you can complete the reset process.

When a handset is locked it means it will only work with the provider from whom you bought it. If your phone is locked it won't automatically become unlocked when your contract expires with your provider. You'll have to specifically ask your carrier to unlock it. We'll explain how it works in due course.
