Unlock Record For Free

When a record is submitted for approval, it's locked to prevent users from editing it during the approval process. Use the record editability properties to determine who can edit records that are locked in this approval process.

Enter the Unlock Record Apex Action, available with Process Builder or Flow! It is as simple as adding in your logic, say the a Quote status is updated to Rejected, then unlock the Quote. Additionally, you can use this in Flow too. Simply select your Apex Action and add the record Id you'd like to unlock.

Search for the approval requests that you want to remove. Select Mass remove records from an approval process. Add comments. The comments you enter display on the Approval History related list.

This button is not currently available in Lightning Experience, but it's easy to add a quick action button to a record page layout that unlocks locked records. The quick action button will run the following Unlock Record flow, which includes two new Flow Actions: Unlock Record and Get Record Lock Status.

Administrators ONLY can edit records during the approval process. Administrators OR the currently assigned approver can edit records during the approval process.
