The FCC licenses FM radio and full power TV stations as either commercial or noncommercial educational (NCE). (Most AM radio stations are licensed as commercial facilities.)

The FCC regulates radio frequency (RF) devices contained in electronic-electrical products that are capable of emitting radio frequency energy by radiation, conduction, or other means. These products have the potential to cause interference to radio services operating in the radio frequency range of 9 kHz to 3000 GHz.

Obtaining a Show Talk to radio stations in your area about buying air time or any open positions they might have for a radio host for their main programming. Talk to them about the type of show you want to have and ask about their process for new radio show hosts.

To do so, you must obtain MIB's consent (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt. of India). Except for the MIB, no one else has the authority to grant this license. You can begin your broadcast on the frequency once you receive the WPC's final approval (Radio FM).

The length of the antenna required to transmit a signal is related to the wavelength. Directly transmitting frequencies in the audio range would have long wavelengths requiring a humongous antenna and lots of amplification.

Below this is reserved for television stations. Radio waves would interfere with television waves, hampering communications. However, the FCC will allow radio broadcasts to produce transmissions lower than 88.1 MHz if the carrier wave does not go farther than about 60 meters.

In the AM band, each AM station has a maximum bandwidth of 10 kHz, extending 5 kHz above and 5 kHz below the assigned center frequency. The AM band in the United States covers frequencies from 540 kHz up to 1700 kHz, in 10 kHz steps (540, 550, 560 ... 1680, 1690, 1700).
