Managers are ranked from high to low to determine who wins a waiver claim. The initial priority rank is determined by the league's draft: Every time a manager's claim is successful, they drop to the bottom of the priority list. The priority list is never reset.

How Do Waivers Work? The NFL's waiver process is a system that restricts where young players can sign. Any player with less than four years of NFL service when cut is not a free agent, but must first pass through waivers. Any player on waivers is subject to having their contract claimed by any other NFL team.

Continual Rolling List A waiver priority list is created based on standings or by randomizer. Waiver claims are processed based on the waiver priority order. Once a claim is awarded that team moves to the back of the list.

For players who lock on the waiver wire at game time, the waiver period begins overnight after the final game of the weekend concludes. Default waiver periods last one day, but Custom Leagues can have up to 4 day waiver periods or no waivers at all.

When more than one team requests a player in waivers, the player is awarded to the team with the best waiver position (closer to 1). When a claim is resolved, the waiver position for the team that receives the player is changed to the lowest possible priority (10), and all the other teams move up a position.

Since other managers can make waiver claims on players you want, you can increase your chances by making multiple "conditional" claims to add or drop players. The idea is that if 1 claim is voided for any reason, the next claim is processed and you can still have a favorable outcome.
