Vacation Leave (VL) and Sick leave (SL) may be given by an employer as an alternative to Service Incentive Leave (SIL).

Paid sick leavePaid sick leaves are not required by law in the Philippines. The employee is, of course, entitled to their annual service incentive leave of at least five days, which can be used as paid sick leave, but the company policy for this type of paid leave will vary.
