QuARMS is open to Black and Indigenous Canadians and permanent residents of Canada in their final year of high school. Multi-racial applicants who have black ancestry and identify with that ancestry are also permitted to apply.

The QUarms program is one of a kind and is open exclusively to Black-identified and Indigenous students. Only 10 students are accepted into this program a year. Queen's started the QUarms program as a solution to recruiting more physicians from underrepresented communities.

The QuARMS program has limited openings. This program, as mentioned, is one of the most competitive academic opportunities in Canada. Eligible students must prove from a young age that they possess the necessary skills to fast-track their way into becoming a doctor.

To qualify for entry into Queen's University medical school, you must complete a minimum of 30 half or 15 full course credits at the undergraduate university level. Courses are weighted according to their length of study as follows: Full-year course weight of 1. Half-year course weight of 0.5.
